digital content designer

the role 

As a Digital Content Designer, you will be responsible for designing fresh, creative, and innovative digital learning solutions for our clients. The role will be working within a multi-disciplinary, highly skilled team or teams to deliver a brilliant product or solution.

You will have an eye for detail, with the ability to craft, build and deliver creative solutions that challenge for better outcomes.

You will be working on any number of client projects and, dependant on the business requirements at the time, any number of internal projects at any one time. You will be responsible for organising and managing your own time, ensuring deliveries to other team members are made in a timely manner and to deliver the successful project. Performing tasks to a high standard and taking responsibility and leadership for these key tasks to maximize business performance and secure profitable results. You will be expected to identify improvements at the end of each project to ensure they are fully implemented into the business process.

When required you will also be working with the sales and marketing teams to identify and propose the best commercial solution to satisfy the client requirements. You will also have the opportunity to work on digital content to support the sales and marketing teams to demonstrate our brilliant content design capabilities across a number of different media elements.

main responsibilities 

  • Designing fresh, creative, and innovative digital learning solutions for a wide variety industry sectors and subject matter
  • Designing and creating bespoke screens, interactions, animations and games primarily in Articulate Storyline and are able to design and create the full range of media elements –including graphics, audio, animations and video
  • Storyboarding learning, when required, to meet clients needs, capture the essential knowledge and set up the design of the best possible digital learning solution
  • Listening and understanding client requirements to design brilliant digital learning content that delivers an engaging learning experience
  • Working closely with other members of the learning design team, you will regularly innovate and push the boundaries of what is possible
  • Working effectively with colleagues to create compelling and engaging deliverables that set Fenturi apart from our competitors
  • Managing and prioritising your workload with confidence and efficiency, ensuring that everything you produce is of an exceptional level of quality
  • Being mindful of projects budgets and work within them
  • Committing to project plans for the timely delivery of solutions, and plan time accordingly
  • Attending client meetings, as required, to discuss the solution design and any creative outputs
  • Reporting any project concerns or issues at the earliest opportunity
  • Maintaining any project documentation throughout the project lifecycle
  • Supporting the growth of team by sharing your experiences and ideas internally and with our clients
  • Detecting and resolving issues, you will work with the wider team to test content across a range of browsers and devices
  • Carrying out some project management tasks and client management where appropriate throughout the project lifecycle
  • Adhering to the design process, and be proactive in suggesting and supporting ongoing continuous improvement to the process
  • Supporting an internal project review at project close-down to identify key challenges, successes, and improvements that arose during the project lifecycle

skills and experience 

It’s essential that you have:

  • Excellent knowledge and experience of using Adobe Creative Suite for photo editing and illustration, Illustrator and Photoshop
  • Excellent knowledge and experience in using Adobe After Effects to create digital visual effects and motion graphics
  • Good working knowledge of designing and creating digital content using Articulate Storyline
  • Instructional design experience to develop storyboards and audio scripts that are clear and effective
  • Strong organisation, time management and analytical skills to be able to deal with multiple projects and challenges, and ensure priorities are met
  • Strong creative abilities combined with a robust attention to detail
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with people at all levels, making sure our relationships with clients live long and prosper
  • Excellent IT skills, including a good working knowledge of Microsoft Office
  • Excellent understanding of the skills, tools and processes used in the design and development of high quality, brilliant learning solutions
  • Ability to clearly articulate ideas and thoughts both verbally and in written communication
  • Good project management skills
  • A passion for delivering high quality, creative solutions
  • Curiosity to uncover new ways of doing things
  • Loyalty in working together as one team, being committed to supporting each other

nice to haves

  • Experience of working with other off the shelf authoring tools in a commercial environment
  • Experience of 3d modelling in Blender, Unity or similar
